Dale Cochran
Dale Cochran is a retired guidance counselor from Milton Area School District and a graduate of Lock Haven University. Cochran coached for 20 years and complied a record of 174-93-8. In his tenure, he coached many SVL team champs and several Warrior Run Christmas Tournament champs. In 1985, he was inducted into the District 4 Wrestling Coaches Association Hall of Fame. More recently, in 2010, he was inducted into the West Branch Valley Chapter of the PA Sports Hall of Fame. Cochran coached 36 sectional champions, eight regional champions, 11 state qualifiers while competing in both AA and AAA. Of his state qualifying wrestlers, Cochran finished his career with one third-place finisher, two state runners-up and two PIAA state champions. He served as the 1977 co-coach of the USA Team at the Old Newsboys Wrestling Classic Dapper Dan Tournament with Charlie Heller as a wrestler for the PA team. Dale had many other honors such as being selected several years as Susquehanna Valley Coach of the Year (1974-75, 1975-76), District 4 AA Coach of the Year (1976-77), YMCA Service to Youth Award (1974), and PIAA Class AA Coach of the Year (1975-76 and 1976-77). Dale currently resides in Milton and sadly lost his cherished wife Nancy but is the proud dad of his two children: Jenny and Adam.
