James Dukes, Sr (Jimmie)

July 12, 2023 - Present

Jimmie Dukes was a 26 year referee in Middle TN. As a referee he had flair and confidence. He is what you wanted a referee to be. He was selected Referee of the Year twice and called six state tournaments. He was a mentor and a great example to those in his referee’s association and across the state, both as a referee and as a man. Like the others being honored tonight he has been deeply involved and invested in his community.

James was a 15-yr board member of the Northwest YMCA and 2013 Volunteer of the Year, a life member of the NAACP and past board member, a trustee in his church for over 20 years. He is deeply involved in the Theta Beta fraternity where he was initiated in 1977. He has held many positions within the fraternity and has received their highest honor, the H. H.
