· 36 years as one of GHSA’s most outstanding wrestling official with All-South Wrestling Officials Association (1983-99) and Metro Atlanta Wrestling Officials Association (1999-2019)
· Highly regarded official was recruited to officiate numerous national level tournaments, including NHSCA summer senior nationals in Birmingham, Cleveland, Salisbury and Virginia Beach
· Volunteered his time to stage pre-season rules and technique clinics in local schools, often recruiting recent graduates who want to stay involved in wrestling, to take up officiating
· After his active officiating career was instrumental in developing the GHSA’s Wrestling Officials Rules Clinics, working to ensure consistent and uniform enforcement of NFHS wrestling rules across the state
· Has served as an automotive/diesel instructor at Gwinnett Technical College since 1997 (26 years)
· Resides in Bethlehem, GA; wife, Cathleen Gillespie
