Donald Keith coached at Ridgecrest Elementary, Del Crest Junior High and Millwood High School. Athletes he coached include Mike Childs, three-time Oklahoma state champion and four-time NCAA All-American Roger Frizzell, Cale and Mike Gundy, two-time Olympic and four-time world champion John Smith and Johnny Nimmo, who became the first four-time national champion for the University of Central Oklahoma. Keith received a football scholarship to Concord College in West Virginia and later attended UCO, completing his master’s degree in education. He also served 21 years in the United States Air Force, retiring as a chief master sergeant, and was awarded a Presidential Commendation, Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. Keith earned All-Air Force honors in football and softball and also coached.
