Roger attended Lewisburg High School, graduating in 1982, where he was team captain for 2 years. In his senior year, won a PIAA Bronze Medal for the Green Dragons.

Roger graduated from Lycoming College 1986 with a career record 52-13. He was a 3-time Middle Atlantic Conference Champ and 3-time NCAA Division Ill Qualifier. After graduating, Roger was hired as the Head Coach at William Tennent High School, where he remained the next five years. He then became an assistant coach under Hall of Famer, the late Bill Racich, at Ursinus College in 1992. 

The in 1993, Roger was hand-picked by Hall of Famer, Budd Whitehill to succeed him after 37 years at Lycoming College. Whitehill amassed 376 career wins, and 10 conference titles, but selecting Roger Crebs as the next Head Coach may have been one of the best decisions of Budd Whitehill’s great career.

Roger just finished his 27th year at Lycoming. From his first season, when he was recognized as the NCAA Division III Rookie Coach of the Year, to 2012 when he was inducted into the National Wrestling Coaches Association Division III Hall of Fame, Roger has kept his team in the center of the Division III national spotlight.

Through the 2019-20 Season, Roger has coached the Warriors to 419 Dual Meet wins. Since this was written prior to the post season in 2020, through 2019 he has produced 51 Conference Champs, 29 All-Americans and 5 national champions. He has had 7 wrestlers achieve the 100-win club under his tutelage. In 2010, Roger joined Budd Whitehill as the first coaches in NCAA Division Ill history to win 300 dual meets at the same school. In 1997, Roger was selected the NWCA Division Ill National Coach of the Year. He was named the MAC Coach of the Year 3 times. His teams have earned 5 NWCA Academic Top10 finishes. His teams have won five MAC Conference titles, finished in top 25 at NCAA Division Ill nationals 13 times, and in the top 10 twice.

Roger has served on the NCAA Division Ill Wrestling Committee since 2015. He was the NWCA Division Ill Academic Award Chair in 2013-14. Roger is a member of the NWCA Division Ill Hall of Fame, into the PA District 4 Wrestling Hall of Fame, and the West Branch Valley Sports Hall of Fame. 

Roger and his wife Tara presently live in Montoursville and have 2 sons Gable, a freshman that Roger coaches at Lycoming, and Cael, a junior at Montoursville High School.
