His coaching took him from Connell Middle School and High School to McLaughlin Middle School, Hanford High School and River View High School. He also founded and has coached the Eltopia Bullsnakes Kid’s Wrestling Club in Burbank since 2008.
Tuck has been a wrestling official for the Tri-Cities Wrestling Officials Association for 28 years. His commitment to wrestling officiating has resulted in assignments to 9 Washington State Wrestling Championships and numerous National competitions and tournaments for the National High School Wrestling Coaches Association. He has also served as the Assigning Secretary for his local Association for the past 13 years. For his contributions to the sport of wrestling, Tuck received the Washington Officials Association Meritorious Service Award in 2010 and the National Association of Sports Officials “Great Call Award” in 2019.
Hallie Tucks greatest accomplishment was in 2020 when he became the first Washington wrestling official amputee to officiate the Washington State Championships. In September of 2016 Hallie survived a horrible motorcycle accident with a semi-truck. The accident left Tuck with extensive damage to one leg. After further surgeries to repair the damage he began physical therapy three months later. Tuck was devastated believing he wound never again be able to officiate wrestling.
In October 2017 it got worse for Tuck when he re-injured his leg again leading to another surgery and 6 months in a halo ex-fixture. During this time, he came down with an infection requiring extensive antibiotics to heal. After CAT scans in April of 2018, Hallie and his wife made the difficult decision to amputate his lower leg. Hallie was fitted with his prosthetic leg six weeks later and began the long road of physical therapy and learning to walk again with the artificial leg.
January 2019, Hallie made his first attempt to officiate again at the Othello HS girl’s tournament. Hallie finished the tournament a little rusty but had one of the best days of his life. Tuck was assigned to work the 2019 regional tournament, but they were cancelled due to inclement weather. During the 2019-2020 season Tuck officiated all but two weekends and was selected by his Association to work the 2020 State Tournament with his brother Shaun. Hallie was then selected as one of the 24 officials to work the finals matches at the state championships.
Tuck is currently the Public Works Director for the City of Connell. Hallie and his wife Jennifer reside in Eltopia, Washington. They have two adult sons, David (21) and Travis (19).
