Brad Jackson

Brad Jackson is a true gentleman in our sport.

Brad is the guy that gets it done and does the most with the least.

He starts by demanding excellence of himself.

Brad was a member of the All-Marine Greco team and competed in the 1988 Olympic Trials.

Brad followed fellow Hall of Fame honorees Mike Parker and Daniel Gilbert at East Ridge High School.

In 20 years, Brad's teams have won four middle school league championships (he coached both high school and middle school for a while), Region 4 championships, and have had six Top 10 state tournament finishes in one division, a feat unmatched by any other small school.

His wrestlers collected 28 state medals and had seven different champions, including a two-time winner.

Brad was selected Coach of the Year by everyone - coaches, referees, press and his mother.

He served as East Ridge athletic director and assistant principal for eight years, something that takes a lot of excellent coaches out of the coaching ranks, and now he's the district athletic director.

In 2019, the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association recognized Brad for Distinguished Service three years after he was awarded the A. F. Bridges Athletic Director of the Year award. Brad currently sits on the TSSAA Medical Advisory Committee and is a past winner of East Ridge High School Teach of the Year.

Brad is the biggest brown noser in wrestling. But here's the thing. You couldn't volunteer to help do anything for a tournament because Brad is already doing it. He's been on the World Championship video crew, assistant coach for Team Tennessee, state tournament announcer and commentator, and he's been the tournament director for the Girls State Championship since he got out of coaching in 2010.
