Keith Osborn

Kieth Osborn is a native of Shueyville and was a two-time state meet qualifier and fourth place finisher for Prairie, Cedar Rapids, where he graduated in 1968. He took his interest and passion for the sport to Upper Iowa University, where he was a four year letter winner, team captain and a runner-up in the conference tournament. In 1972 Kieth started his career in coaching at Solon. During a seven year hitch the Spartans were 49-22 on the mats. His next stop was as an assistant at his alma mater, Prairie, Cedar Rapids. In six years there he helped the team to a sparkling 56-2 record. The next 19 seasons, 1985-2004, he was the head coach at East Marshall, LeGrand where his Mustangs authored a 157-92 mark. In his 32 seasons, Coach Ozzie Osborn considered himself blessed with the opportunity to work with hundreds of young men including 75 state meet qualifiers and 44 state meet place winners. Kieth stays connected with the sport as he continues to work with the kids' programs and officiates. He still resides in LeGrand and shares this honor with his wife Deb. The Osborns have two grown children - Nick, a recent college graduate, and Molly, who is a Peace Corps volunteer serving in Belize.
