  • Graduate of John Marshall High School in Cleveland, Ohio and was coached by Eugene Gibons, a National Hall of Fame Wrestling Coach and National Champion Wrestler from Michigan State University. 
  • Graduated College from Bowling Green State University was coached by Bruce Bellard on the mat and Doyt Perry on the football field.
  • Coached Football and Wrestling for my first eight years as a Teacher at Avon Lake Ohio and started their first wrestling program in 1959 and had a season first record of 8-1. 
  • 1960 started the wrestling program at Maumee High in Maumee, Ohio. Record at Maumee was 35-22-1 and won 3 Northern Lakes League titles.
  • 1967 started at Hazel Park HS Teaching and as the Head Wrestling Coach
  • Record at HP was 183-35-3. 
  • 6 undefeated teams and won 37 straight duals meets. 
  • 15 SMA League Championships. 13 consecutive SMA Championships in a row. 
  • 8 Oakland County Championships, 4 straight
  • 9 District
  • 6 Regional titles. 
  • Placed 9 times in the top 10 at the State meet
  • 3 MHSAA Runner up Trophies. 
  • 11 individual State Champions
  • 43 individual place winners in the top 6, at the MHSAA individual State finals, during that 18 year period. 
  • Steve Fraser, the 1976 Michigan State Champ became the first American Greco Roman wrestler to win the Olympic Gold Medal for the USA in 1984. 
  • Ron Nagy has become the coordinator of the MHSAA Individual State Wrestling Tournament. Ron has contributed many innovative ideas to wrestling and officiating in the state of Michigan.
  • Member of the MWA from 1967-1985 and was the Historian the last years coached. 
  • 1985 Michigan’s coach of the year
  • National Region 4 Coach of the Year representing Michigan at the 1985 National High School Athletic Coaches Association Convention held in Orlando Florida.
  • Retired from coaching in 1985, with an overall record of 226-59-4.
  • Continued to run many tournaments after retiring including the Oakland County Tournament and the MHSAA State Finals
