David wrestled for Al Baxter at Buena Vista college, graduating in 1988. He spent 27 years as head coach - six at George-Little Rock 1988-1994 and 21 at Spencer 1994-2015. David also ran a youth program at Spencer for those 21 years, with over 100 wrestlers each year. David has been a solid member with the IWCOA and has worked diligently to support USA wrestling and AAU sanctioned events. David and his wife Laura have two sons, Tanner and Tyler, and he was a father figure to every kid who came through the program.
