Clinton Miller

CJ Miller from Greenfield, Iowa was a dedicated Marine who gave his life for his country on December 11, 2006. He was in Al, Anbar Province, Iraq. He along with two fellow Marines, Corporal Matt Dillion and Lt. Corporal Bud Cote, were providing security and clearing IED's so that fellow Marines and soldiers could conduct operations safely. CJ and fellow Marines were aware of the risks of their missions but faced that with honor and bravery. The vehicle they were traveling in was hit by and Improvised Explosive Device (IED). They had just completed clearing an IED and were moving on to the second one when the explosion occurred. CJ was quiet man, however he had a very sharp and fast sense of humor. His smile was infectious and could easily light up an entire room just upon his entrance. He was a talented guitarist. He loved to play the bass guitar. CJ touched many lives and didn't know an enemy. CJ wrestled for Nodaway Valley as a heavy weight. One of his most memorable matches was in the finals of a Sectional Tournament, he was wrestling an opponent who had pinned him several times that year. If CJ wins then Nodaway Valley qualifies for State duals. You guessed it, CJ pinned his opponent and the crowd erupts allowing Nodaway Valley to qualify for the State duals.
