Jim Christensen

Jim Christensen graduated from Lenox High School in 1970, going on to Northwest Missouri State University where he wrestled for two years. He began his officiating career in 1978. Jim worked 35 years of State Tournament finals and many years of Sectionals, Districts , as well as Regionals and State dual team tournaments. Jim has served on the IWCOA convention committee for 20 plus years, as well as led wrestling rules meetings for Iowa High School Athletic Association for many years. Jim has served on the 4-H youth council for Adair County and the Adair County Fair Board for 15 years plus 4 additional years as president. Jim served on the Greenfield school board for six years. Over the past 41 years of officiating, Jim says that it has been a privilege to work with many officials, coaches, and school officials. He has enjoyed the many tournaments and dual meets he has been able to work. And says it has been his honor to work with the very best wrestlers in the nation. For Jim, officiating has been a lifetime of enjoyment and he is indebted to the sport for the many friends and associates he has come to meet. Jim retired from Iowa Department of Agriculture and is currently continuing to farm in the Fontanelle area. Jim and his wife Kathryn have seven children-Danielle, John, Many, Jason, Justin, Joshua, and Brandi. Jim was also honored to be voted as Southwest Iowa District of the Year in 1986-87, 1990, 1996-98, 2000, 2001, 2009, and 2019.
