Larry Sheridan

Sheridan graduated from Liberty High School in 1949, Mercersburg Academy in 1951 and Lehigh in 1958.

A natural athlete, he excelled in soccer, track and wrestling, culminating in a National Prep championship in wrestling in 1950.

While his competitive athletic career was sidelined by injuries, Sheridan south other opportunities to promote the sport of wrestling and further his father's legacy.

He served as a high school wrestling official for 15 years and as the "Voice of Lehigh Wrestling" provided color commentary on WLVT-TV Channel 39 for Lehigh wrestling home meets for 26 years. He also broadcast the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association state wrestling tournament for more than a decade. For a span of over 50 years, Larry and his partner, Shel Seigel, promoted wrestling not only in the Lehigh Valley but the entire state of Pennsylvania.

Sheridan's longtime service to wrestling earned him induction into the District XI Wrestling Hall of Fame and the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association Hall of Fame.
