Harry Bo Wood

"¢ Pennsylvania Certified Athletic Trainer, 1967 "¢ Teacher of the Year, Indiana Area School District, 1995 "¢ A Model of Loyalty "Bo" became assistant coach to Sam Lengel at Indiana Area School District in 1956. In 1966, he became head coach until 1973. but in 1982 "Bo" became the Junior High coach. In 1988, he once again relinquished his coaching duties only to become a volunteer assistant coach in 1991, a position he holds today. His Indiana High School teams produced 7 district, 4 regional and 2 PIAA State Champions. Coach Wood 's first champion was heavyweight Jim Nance, who became a 3 time Eastern Champion and 2 time NCAA National Champion. As a wrestler, "Bo" was a 6-time Gold Medalist in the Pennsylvania Senior Olympics. A veteran of the Korean War, Coach Wood was involved with the Boy Scouts and the American Red Cross Association. "Bo" received the "All-American Hero Award" in 2000 from the community and validated by United States Congressman Murtha
