"¢ Coached and officiated for 32 years "¢ Career record of 242 wins, 132 losses, 4 ties "¢ Master's Degree in Health & Physical Education, University of Pittsburgh, 1955 Frank Vulcano, Sr. started his coaching career at Scott Township High School in 1953. Coach Vulcano left Scott Township to become coach at Chartiers-Houston until 1965, when he accepted the assistant coach position at California University. In 1968 he was named head coach, a position he held until 1984. In 1967, he founded the Annual California University High School Christmas Tournament and served as director until 1984. The tournament is now known as the Powerade Tournament and is one of the top holiday tournaments in the nation. 1n 1974 he started the first match between Class AAA and Class AA in the WPlAL. Frank has been inducted into the Lock Haven University Hall of Fame, the Washington County Sports Hall of Fame, Southwestern Pennsylvania Wrestling Hall of Fame and the Pennsylvania Wrestling Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
