Charles White

Charles White, made significant contributions to the sport of wrestling on the local, state and national levels as a coach and official After graduating from the University of Oklahoma, he coached for 23 years, 20 at Rocky Ford, two and Gunnison and one at Center. During his career, he coached 10 teams g , that went undefeated in dual meets during the regular season. He was named Colorado Coach of the Year eight times as his teams won nine state titles, placed second once and third nine times. His wrestlers won 32 individual state titles, more than 100 placed in the league tournaments and six would follow White into the coaching ranks. He also coached two wresters who would go on to earn national titles. He was inducted into the Colorado High School Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 1992. He was Category I International Official, served as the State Chairman of Officials and was the National Officials Board President. White and his wife, Carol Ann, have three children, Daniel, Wayne and Pamela. They were named the USA Wrestling Family of the Year in 1989. He now makes his home in Grand Junction.
