He has been named Pennsylvania Wrestling Coach of the Year four times and his teams have won the Pennsylvania State Team Championships twice. Coach Kanaskie has served six terms as President of the Pennsylvania Wrestling Coaches Association and five terms as Secretary. He was the first active coach to be elected to the board of directors of the P.I.A.A. Besides coaching, Ron found time to officiate for over twenty years and publish a Pennsylvania Wrestling Newsletter - Kanaskie's Korner for eight years.
