Dennis Amende
Dennis is described by colleagues as a teacher whose classes are both demanding and enjoyable, and coach who not only demanded respect from his wrestlers but also held them accountable to the program. Dennis expected his athletes to be good students and good citizens on and off the mat. Even as a young coach Dennis realized that sports were not just games, but a means to developing good human beings who had good work ethics, dedication, loyalty to a program, and developed goal setting skills. An outstanding high school wrestler at Couer d'Alene HS and college wrestler at both North Idaho College and Pacific University, Dennis earned his teaching degree at Lewis & Clark State College. He began his teaching and coaching career at Post Falls High School. Having coached at the high school for 19 years, Dennis had an outstanding record of 213 Dual wins, 11 State Champions, 60 State Placers, 2 District Titles and during his tenure at Post Falls HS and began the River City Duals as well as helping to develop the Post Falls Freestyle Wrestling Club. Dennis inspired many young men to continue their wrestling career at the college level. Dennis continues to prepare great wrestlers as the middle school coach. Dennis is considered to be one of the cornerstones of the Post Falls Wrestling Program and was inducted into the Post Falls Hall of Legends in 2012.
