Ollis received the Dick Knox Distinguished Service Award in 2003 and the North Carolina Athletic Association's "Golden Whistle" award in 2017 for outstanding officiating service. Ollis retired in 2001 from the City of High Point. He had his wife, Elaine, currently live in High Point and Ollis continues to officiate full time.
