Tom Wokasch

Tom came to Arizona in 1985 from White Bear Lake High School in central Minnesota and began his Arizona wrestling career as an assistant at Ajo High School. Two years later Tom was the head coach and remained at Ajo another 22 years. In 1989 Wokasch moved to Mingus Union High School where he remained another 21 years. Coach Wokasch made his final move to Queen Creek High School in 2010, and retired from there at the end the 2017 school year. In his 40 year coaching career, Coach Wokasch has amassed 514 dual match victories with an 81% winning ratio. Coach's teams have won 5 Arizona State Titles, been runners-up once, and region champions 13 times. Tom has been the Region 8 Coach of the Year 3 times, Arizona State Wrestling Coach of the Year twice, and his specific region Coach of the Year 8 times. Coach Wokasch has also been active in the Arizona USA Wrestling Association for many years.
