Larry Hill

Throughout his career, Larry Hill has coached over 2000 athletes and developed over 100 county and regional champions from over 35 different Maryland High Schools. His dedication and devotion to the sport of wrestling has impacted the lives of many athletes, families and coaches. He's coached 48 consecutive years in the Junior League and 11 at the High School level. After running Hill Brothers Construction Company all day, he hustles off to high school practice for 2 hours and follows that with a commute to his junior league practice. His legacy in the sport of wrestling is a result of this level of effort and dedication. Larry wrestled all 4 years at Springbrook HS, graduating in 1969. He continued to wrestle at Montgomery Community College for 2 years and immediately started his junior league coaching career in 1971. After 2 years at the White Oak Wrestling Club, Larry went to the Burtonsville Team for 30 years. He currently coaches at the B & O Outlaws, where he helped them win a Capital Area Beltway League Championship in 2010. The past 11 years have also included 5 years as Head Coach at Einstein HS and 6 years as JV Coach & Varsity Coach at Magruder HS. At the Public School States, he has coached 17 champions and 7 runner-ups. At the Private School States, he has coached 4 champions and 8 runner-ups while coaching 5 champions and 5 runner-ups at the National Preps. Larry has also coached 16 college wrestlers that include 2 NCAA Division I National Qualifiers and 2 NCAA Division II National Qualifiers. Moreover, his effort, dedication and results have made him a role model for wrestlers on all levels. Larry has been married to Josette for 34 years and they have 3 daughters: Michelle (31), Ashley (30) and Jennifer (23). Larry has never missed a theater production, cheerleading, volleyball or soccer event that his daughters have participated in. Although none of his children wrestled, Larry has devoted his life to the sport of wrestling. His efforts have inspired young athletes to develop great work habits, responsibility and teamwork as they grow into adulthood.
