Darrell Brown

"Lifetime Service to Wrestling" Darrell Brown has distinguished himself over the past four decades as an outstanding asset to high school wrestling in the state of Idaho. A graduate of Highland High School Darrell went on to play football and wrestle at Idaho State University. In 1973 he began his coaching career at Aberdeen HS where he was named 5th district coach of the year, in 1975 he moved his family to Idaho Falls to become football and wrestling coach at Bonneville HS then in 1981 came to New Plymouth to coach football and wrestling. Coach Brown truly has been a valuable asset to these Idaho high school communities as a teacher, administrator and coach. His coaching tenure is dotted with young men that became champions in wrestling and life. The RD Brown invitational in New Plymouth is aptly named because of the impact he's made on that entire community. "I've been involved in Idaho wrestling since 1975 as a wrestler, coach, and leader. I've been honored to watch Coach Brown from so many angles, so many lenses, and always with the respect and appreciation for what he's done for so long, for so many" Scott Hill
