Arne Jones

Arne Jones started his association with wrestling as a wrestler for Malad High School in 1973 where he coached wrestling in 1981 to 1984. He began officiating wrestling in 1986 and has been an active official in Idaho, Wyoming, Utah and Nevada for the past 30+ years. Arne has officiated 28 State Tournaments and has been ranked the number one Official in District Five the past 16 years. Arne is considered one of the top wrestling Officials in Idaho. He is the Idaho Wrestling Officials Association Vice President for 24 years now. The past five years Arne has been the rule interpreter and training director for the 5th District. He has been responsible for coordinating the association of our officials with the Utah Officials Association, which has allowed many of our officials to officiate in multiple tournaments in Utah. Arne has served wrestling for the past 30+ years because he believes that "wrestling builds character in young athletes and prepares them for life's challenges". Married to Cathie for 35 years, his children, Court Todd Jones, Morgan A.J. Rose, and Rocky Alon Jones. Arne retired from the Pocatello Police Force in 1997 where he was a Detective, SWAT Team leader, Firearms Instructor, Patrol Officer, and Drug Enforcement (DEA) Agency Certified Specialist.
