Rocky Nelson

Prior to becoming "The Wrestling Coach" in Heber, Arizona, Rocky lived and wrestled in Utah. He then spent three years as the head coach in Snowflake, Arizona. He decided to move to Heber and hasn't moved since. He started the Mogollon High School program in 1989 and started the junior high program that same year. In his "off time", Rocky has been trying to save our forests every summer as a firefighter. His wrestlers have capture two state team titles and two state team runner-up trophies. His teams have won a whopping 436 dual meets and several regional titles. His wrestlers have earned 34 state individual titles. Rocky was named Region Coach of the Year three times and Arizona Wrestling Coach of the Year twice. He has earned National Federation of High Schools Coach of the Year. He has also served on the AIA Wrestling Committee since 2010 and helped run the Arizona State Tournament for eight years.
