Stan Kawamoto was a 1960 0SAA state champion from Estacada high school. Stan wrestled at Cerritos junior college in California before returning to Oregon to join the Portland State University team. He started officiating in 1967. He served as head official at the OSAA Championships for a total of nine years (1982 to 1991) and was president of both the Portland wrestling officials association and the Western Washington officials association. Stan was named Puget Sound official of the year in 1995, Head official for the Reno tournament of champions and the 1980 NCAA All-Star dual meet official. He has also officiated NCAA regionals, NAIA District & Regionals and Junior College regionals.
