Jane Townsend

Jane and her husband Gary became two of the most recognizable faces in the Florida Wrestling Community dating back to the mid 1980's. They are most commonly thought of as a team and embody that moniker in every facet of their lives, both in and out of the wrestling arena. She started out as a volunteer at wrestling tournaments at Lake Worth High School for the off season club wrestling her son was attending. Once he began attending high school they both started as volunteer boosters with the Santaluces High School Booster Club. She helped found the Lantana Wrestling Club in 1991; Co-Chaired the Sunshine State Games from 1992-96 and Sunshine Open Wrestling Tournament from 1994-2004. Gary served as FAWA State Chairman from 2000-02, while Jane has served as Secretary. They helped found the NWHOF-Florida Chapter in 1999. Jane has served on that board as Secretary from the beginning and then the Treasurer position was added a few years later. She served on several state-wide committees, such as the 2012 Volunteer Committee for the Florida 2012 Olympic Games Bid. They have received numerous honors for their volunteer efforts, such as the 1993 FAWA Service Award; 1996 FAWA State Chairman's Award; and she was inducted to the Palm Beach County Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2006. In addition, she has worked numerous FHSAA District & Region Competitions, as well as FAWA Major Events including the National Team Qualifier, State Championships and SE Regional Tournaments as a pairing official. She has four children - Cindy, Ryan, Rebecca and Randy (deceased). They have 11 grandchildren. Jane is currently the Executive Assistant at Trinity Church International in Lake Worth, where she has been working since 1991.
