Mike Golic is famous for his voice, and he made it loud and clear that wrestling deserves a place among a national audience.

Golic is best known as co-host of ESPN Radio’s Mike & Mike show, which broadcasts live nationwide on ESPN Radio and on ESPN2. The show focuses on each day’s biggest and most relevant sports topics. Golic has been a strong advocate for wrestling, using his ESPN platform to show support for the sport when, in 2013, the International Olympic Committee threatened to remove it from the Olympic Games. He continues to be a huge supporter of USA Wrestling and collegiate wrestling.

Known for his colorful on-air personality, Golic joined ESPN in 1995 as a reporter and analyst for Sunday NFL Countdown. Along with Mike Greenberg, he began co-hosting Mike & Mike in the Morning in 1998. Mike & Mike began simulcasting on ESPNEWS in 2004 and on ESPN2 in 2006.

Golic is also a former NFL defensive lineman and television football commentator. He played eight years in the National Football League for the Houston Oilers, Philadelphia Eagles, and Miami Dolphins as a defensive tackle.

A 1985 graduate of the University of Notre Dame, Golic wrestled and played football in college. He compiled a 24-4-1 career wrestling record during his time with the Fighting Irish. Prior to that, Golic wrestled for four seasons at St. Joseph High School in Cleveland, Ohio. He was a third-place finisher at the 1981 Ohio state wrestling championships.

Mike’s brother, Bob, also played football and wrestled for Notre Dame. He was a two-time All-American at heavyweight, placing fourth at the 1977 NCAA tournament and third in 1978. Bob went onto a successful professional football career himself, earning All-Pro honors twice during his 14-year career.

In addition to his public successes, Mike is an advocate for community service. He is a board member for Hannah & Friends, an organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for children and adults with special needs. Golic is also an active fundraiser for the V Foundation for cancer research.

In 2014, he was the spokesman for the St. Jude Campaign, and remains a supporter for the Northern Indiana Food Bank and Center for the Homeless in South Bend, Indiana.
