A member of the Peninsula Wrestling Officials Association from 1973 and the Southeastern Officials Association since 2011, he has officiated thousands of elementary, middle, high school, and college matches. In addition to these VHSL events, he has been chosen to serve at several prestigious tournaments, among them NHSCA (National High School Coaches Association) tournament at Virginia Beach, the Interstate 64, the Brute Nationals, and the Virginia Beach Nationals. He has worked the Virginia Duals since its inception in 1980, and since 2011 has served as head official for Virginia Challenge. He is well-known for his steady demeanor and command of the match. Mike also has a coaching chapter in his career, helping as an assistant coach to start the wrestling program at Northampton High School. Finally, he has generously donated over $10,000 to the Scott Miles Scholarship Fund to support wrestlers pursuing a college education. Mike is respected and admired in the wrestling community for his unselfish volunteerism and exemplary officiating while supporting the growth of amateur wrestling in Virginia. Mike is supported by Cindy, his wife of 30 years. He has two daughters, Kerrie Ann Caison Bagg (husband Ian) and Alison Caison Kelley (husband Nathan); and two sons, Chris, who with wife April has blessed him with three granddaughters (Dylan, Emma, and Caroline), and Daniel, a three-time all-state wrestler.
