John Niles

John Niles has been an Florida High School Athletic Association registered official for over 30 years, as a member of the Sunshine Officials Association.

He has been president of the Sunshine Officials Association for 15 years, treasurer for 12 years, and served as a board member at large for much of his career with SOA.

He's served as an instructor at two FHSAA State Field Clinics, worked as an official at nine FHSAA State Championships, 31 region and 40 district tournaments.

He also worked as a high school and collegiate official for the Orange Bowl Sunshine Open for 12 years.

John is a graduate of Dixie Hollins High School, where he wrestled and qualified for the state tournament in 1970.

He also competed for the club team at the University of South Florida, and graduated from Falkner State College in Alabama in 1973.

John and his wife, Jane, have a son John, and a daughter, Janna.
