32 years (1970-2002) as a highly regarded coach and high school/college wrestling official in New York and Georgia

2 years (1967-69) - volunteer coach - Cortland YMCA

3 years (1970-73) - junior varsity coach at Maine-Endwell High School (Endwell, NY)

4 years (1974-76; 1978-80) - head coach at Spencer-VanEtten High School (Spencer, NY), developing program into a premier program in the southern tier of NY State

1 year (1982-83) - head coach at Osborne High School (Marietta, GA)

President of the South Central Wrestling Officials Association in NY State - 12 years (1970-82)

Officiated the NYSPHSAA state championships in 1978, the youngest official ever at that time

Officiated the NCAA Division III Championships and SUNYAC Championships in 1977

Member of Georgia Wrestling Officials Association (GWOA) from 1982 - 2002, serving as president, rules interpretation presenter and trainer of new officials; a mainstay at the GHSA state championships, officiating the tournament 20 times

Coached 7 NY sectional champions including two All-Americans (Bob Eddy/Jim Hauptfleisch) in one of the strongest sections in New York State

Co-director of the Cornell University Summer Wrestling Camps (1975-77) with Cornell coaches Andy Noel and Carmen Molino

34 years in education as a highly respected elementary teacher and longtime principal, serving as principal at four elementary schools

Resides in Rome, GA with wife, Lynn; adult sons: Michael (deceased), Steven; stepsons, Matthew Jones, Josh Jones
