Todd Rosenthal attended Moline High School, Blackhawk Junior College and Illinois State University. He was honored while at ISU as its Most Valuable Wrestler in 1982. While attending Blackhawk Junior College Todd won a bronze medal at the Junior Pan-American Freestyle Championships in Venezuela, followed by gold in the 1979 Junior Greco-Roman Pan-Am Games in Mexico. An alternate on the 1980 and 1984 U.S. OlympicGreco-Roman wrestling teams, he won three Greco-Roman national titles, competed on two World Cup Greco teams and captured the silver medal at the 1983 National Sports Festival. Todd began coaching as an assistant at United Township High School in East Moline, but two years later, he assumed the head wrestling post at his alma mater and held that position until becoming Moline's athletic director in 2000. Todd's wrestling teams tallied a dual meet record of 278-55, 63 individual state qualifiers, 11state place-winners and two state champions. The Maroons collected 13 conference championships (12 in a row), eight regional and six sectional titles and six dual team "Elite Eight" appearances. They placed fourth in 1998 and third in 2000, were state runners-up in 1999 and won the Dual Team State Championship in 1996. A two-time IWCOA Class AA Coach of the Year, Todd was also selected by the National Wrestling Coaches Association as 1996 Illinois Coach of the Year. Inducted in 2001 into the IWCOA Hall of Fame, he was the 2008 IWCOA Administrator of the Year. Todd was also named coach of the 1997 Tour De Monde Greco-Roman team in Hungary and team leader of the 1995 Tour De Monde Greco-Roman Team in Slovenia. The volunteer supervisor of the head table for the IHSA Individual State Tournament since 2007, Todd also served on the IHSA Ad Hoc Committee to formulate a new wrestling weight control plan, which began in the 2003-04 school year.
