Greg Foreman

Greg Foreman has established Pigeon Forge High School as a perennial power. Even though they are classified as a ‘small’ school, programs of any size wrestle Pigeon Forge at their own peril. Greg has built the program from the bottom up and it shows in their state championships. Greg has the integrity, passion, and compassion that makes wrestlers and parents want to be part of what that guy is doing.

Greg wrestled for Hall of Fame coach David Hollowell (in attendance) at Greeneville High School where he was teammates with Randy Shelton (you’ll hear more about him later). Greg also wrestled for Hall of Fame coach Don Elia at Carson-Newman where he graduated Summa Cumme Laude with a Master’s degree in Art. After brief stints at South Doyle and Dobbyns-Bennett, Greg has been at the helm of Pigeon Forge for the last 23 years where the Tigers have accumulated five Duals titles and six Traditional championships. And while championships are something every coach works for Greg is quick to acknowledge that he coaches more than wrestlers-he’s proud of the college professors, lawyers, dentists, engineers, high school teachers, nurses, welders, policemen, business owners, City workers, community and service leaders, military personnel and even a college wrestling coach that he has coached. He knows that we are not wrestlers forever…well we kind of are…and that the championships don’t mean much without success after the program.

Greg is a leader in the wrestling community too and has served on many AAU and USAW boards as well as on the TACA Wrestling Committee.
