Troy Roth
Described as a selfless motivator, self-disciplined, invaluable, and committed, Troy Roth has embodied what it means to be a servant leader.
First serving as an assistant coach, Roth later became the head coach at Montpelier High School. At the helm, Roth has coached and mentors several state qualifiers and placers.
In 2011, Roth was named the Ohio Division III Coach of the Year after Montpelier had a record-breaking year and set five school records.
In addition to his impressive coaching career, Roth has been heavily involved in various wrestling organizations around the state of Ohio. He has served as president and treasurer of the Ohio High School Coaches Wrestling Association as well as an officer for the Greater Toledo Wrestling Coaches Association.
Throughout his remarkable career, Roth has always maintained one priority: supporting the kids. While much of his work has been done behind the scenes, Roth has been devoted to improving the lives of the young student-athletes he coaches and teaches.
On top of his impressive wrestling coaching, Roth has also coached football and track & field at Montpelier.
Roth’s passion for supporting young student-athletes and the sport of wrestling is remarkable.
His devotion to his student-athletes exemplifies his love and commitment to the sport and high school athletics in the state of Ohio. A role model to all around him, Roth has always been the first to offer congratulations to an opponent or wish them luck prior to a big competition.
Following an esteemed coaching career, Roth is a clear example of what the Lifetime Service to Wrestling award is all about.
