Randy Steward

September 24, 1959 - Present

· Native of DeWitt, IA; 1978 graduate of Central DeWitt High School

· 1982 graduate of Cornell College (Mount Vernon, IA) - B.S. Physical Education

· 1986 graduate of Northwest Missouri State University (Maryville, MO) - M.S. Physical Education; served as graduate assistant coach and activities instructor

· 4X NCAA national qualifier as a mainstay on the mats while at Cornell College

· 4X Midwest Conference finalist / 2X champion

· 41 years of service as a high school or college level coach - still active

· Currently in 8th season (2016-2024) as Physical Education teacher and head wrestling coach at Sonoraville High School (Calhoun, GA) leading teams to 3 GHSA AAA traditional state titles

· 23 years (1993-2016) as head coach/Assistant Professor of Physical Education at Loras (IA) College, developing the DuHawks into one of the premier NCAA Division III wrestling programs in the nation

· Coached 3 individual D3 national champions, 36 D3 All-Americans

· 4X Iowa Conference Coach of the Year

· 2 years (1991-93) - Athletic/Activities Director/head wrestling coach at Ellsworth Community College (Iowa Falls, IA)

· 8 additional years of experience in GA (Lafayette HS 1989-91), FL, CO, IA, and MO high schools and/or colleges

· Assistant Director of NCAA DIII Wrestling Championships hosted by Loras College - 2 years (2004/2007)

· President of NCAA D3 Wrestling Coaches Association - 3 years (2007-2010)

· National Wrestling Coaches Association board member - 7 years (2009-2016)

· NCAA Central Region Coach of the Year (2014)

· Inducted into NWCA D3 Hall of Fame (2016)

· Inducted into Central DeWitt HS Hall of Fame (2016)

· Inducted into Loras College Athletic Hall of Fame (2024)

· Guest instructor and clinician at numerous camps and clinics across the country

· Resides in Plainville, GA with wife, Lori; adult children: Jake, Helen
