Jones became the Head Wrestling Coach at Lakeside-Nine-Mile Falls High School helping to open the school in 1990, with freshman and sophomores, where he successfully coached for 17 years.
Lakeside High School became a wrestling dynasty under Coach Jones. At Lakeside High School, his teams were 11-time league champions, 12-time District/Regional Champions, and 5-time State Champions (1997-1999-2003-2005 and 2006) as well as 3-time State Runner-ups (1994, 1998 and 2002).
