Marc fell in love with wrestling while a student at Lock Haven State College, witnessing the great wrestling there. After graduating in 1972, he started his coaching career at the Lock Haven YMCA youth wrestling program. Marc then moved on to the Greater Latrobe Junior High team, holding that position for 19 years, as his young Wildcats compiled an overall record of 177-21-1 including 5 consecutive undefeated seasons and 12 section team championships. He was twice named the WPIAL Coach of the Year.

In 1991 Marc became the Varsity Head Coach at Greater Latrobe, staying until 2012, compiling a varsity career record of 218-104-1. Marc coached 17 Westmoreland County individual champs, 40 Section champs, 71 WPIAL regional qualifiers with 25 finalists, including 8 Southwest WPIAL regional champs. He had 29 PIAA qualifiers, 14 medalists, 6 state finalists and 1 state champion. His combined coaching record as a Head Coach in Jr High and Varsity is 395-125-5.

His Varsity squads won 4 Section team titles, and was the WPIAL team runner-up in 2011. His Wildcats were Westmoreland County team champions in both 2011 and 2012. Marc helped to coach the Pennsylvania All Star Team to its first national team title in 1999. He was twice the Westmoreland County All-Star Coach. Marc was named the WPIAL Section Coach of the Year 3 times. He was a Pennsylvania Wrestling Coaches Hall of Fame Inductee in 2012 and a Southwestern Hall of Fame inductee in 2016.

As a coach, Marc was focused and dedicated to make every athlete in the wrestling room not only the best wrestler they could be but the best person too. That proved a very successful formula for Marc and his wrestlers.

He continues to contribute to wrestling as photographer for PA Wrestling Newsmagazine and PA Power Wresting. Marc has taken photos at the Pittsburgh Wrestling Classic and numerous NCAA Championships. He has also worked as a radio commentator. Search the internet, you will find lots of Marc’s work, as he is an active contributor to several websites and blogs. Additionally, Marc was cast as an extra in the 2014 wrestling movie, Foxcatcher.

Marc is a retired Health and PE teacher and enjoys his free time as a fly fishing guide and casting instructor. Marc and his wife Lynda, still reside in Latrobe and have 2 children, Suzanne and Jennifer.
