Steve Gwyn
- Native of Chamblee, GA
- 1972 graduate of Chamblee HS where he placed 3rd and 2nd (119 lbs.) in the Georgia High School Association state tournaments for NWHOF coach Ed Winterstein
- 1977 graduate of Georgia Tech
- 37 years of service (1974-2011) as a referee with Georgia Wrestling Officials Association (GWOA)
- Served several offices for GWOA including President, Vice-President and served as mentor and trainer for veteran and new officials
- 3X named Outstanding Official for Gwinnett County and Dekalb County Takedown Clubs
- As one of the GHSA’s most outstanding officials, was a mainstay at GHSA state and region tournaments
- Also officiated numerous freestyle, Kids USA and other open tournaments
- Well-respected trainer for new wrestling officials
- Regularly organized preseason “How to Watch High School Wrestling” clinics at numerous schools’ takedown club meetings and matches to educate parents, coaches and spectators
- Founded and directed, with Ed Winterstein, the “Dunwoody Church Wrestling” program for kids in grades 1-7 to participate in the sport and promote wrestling
- Serves as project site superintendent for Worthing Southeast Builders, a general contracting firm
- Resides in Grayson, GA with wife, Jo Anna Richbourg; adult son, Cory
