Mike Lancaster

· 1978 graduate of Georgia State University (B.S. Recreational Supervision)

· M.S. degree from Georgia State University - 1992

· Ed. S. degree from Lincoln Memorial University (Harrogate, TN) - 2006

· 40 years of service to wrestling - 4 years as an assistant coach /36 years as a head coach - still active

· 4 years (1982-86) - Rockdale County HS (Conyers, GA)

· 2 years (1986-88) - Druid Hills HS (Atlanta, GA)

· 1 year (1988-89) - Avondale HS (Avondale Estates, GA)

· 20 years (1990-98/2002-14) - Berkmar HS (Lawrenceville, GA)

· 1 year (2002-02) - M.L. King HS (Atlanta, GA)

· 3 years (1998-2001) - Duluth HS (Duluth, GA)

· 8 years (2014-present) - St. Pius X Catholic HS (Atlanta, GA)

· Retired in 2014 from teaching in the Gwinnett County schools; still active as head wrestling coach and assistant football and baseball coach.; at the time of his retirement he was the longest tenured wrestling coach in Gwinnett County

· Has served as an assistant football coach and baseball coach at numerous schools

· Established the SPX “Turkey Duals” team tournament when taking over the St. Pius program in 2014 to build and promote the program/sport

· Member of the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA), Georgia Athletic Coaches Association (GACA) and Georgia Wrestling Coaches  Association            

· Named “Coach of the Year “ by the Gwinnett County Takedown Club (1997-98)

· Numerous former wrestlers have gone on to become successful wrestling coaches at the high school level

· Wife, Lisa; children: Marc, Laura
