Tom Beuglas

· Graduate of West Virginia University (B.S. Biology) - 1967

· Graduate of Ohio University (M.S. Guidance and Counseling) - 1970

· Ed.S. in Administration and Supervision - Georgia State University - 1982

· Walked on WVU wrestling team as a freshman with no previous wrestling

  experience -competed 1963-67; received wrestling scholarship 1965-67

· 6 years (1967-73) - Marietta (OH) HS head wrestling coach/science teacher/guidance counselor; started Freestyle club to allow competition out of season for team

· 7 years (1973-80) - Montgomery (MD) County Schools: Paint Branch HS (1973-74) - asst. coach; Seneca Valley HS (1974-80) - head coach/voted Coach of the Year

· 18 years (1980-98) - Dekalb (GA) County Schools: Lakeside HS coach/AP/Principal (received approval from BOE to coach while still serving as AP and principal

· Coached Lakeside HS to 1997 GHSA state AAA championship

· 6 years (1998-2004) - Director of Athletics for Dekalb County Schools - personally coordinated wrestling and ensured that all schools programs

· had equipment and supplies necessary to be successful. Retired in 2004

· His active promotion of wrestling during his time as system athletic director in Dekalb County allowed high school programs to remain strong

· 5 years (2004-09) - Parkview HS - asst. coach to Dennis Stromie and son, Tom - concentrated on new wrestlers

· 7 years (2009-16) - Archer HS - asst. coach to son, Tom. Archer wrestling room is named in his honor

· 6 years (2016-present) - Buford HS – assistant coach – concentrating on    freshman and JV wrestlers

· Past member of National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association

· Past GHSA Executive Committee Member

· Past GHSA Region President

· Wife, Patty; children: Tom, Chris
