Sammy Chagolla

Sammy Chagolla was one of Arizona's first four-time high school state champions.

He began his coaching career at Peoria High School as an assistant coach from 1988-1992 before taking over as head coach in 1993.

Sammy compiled a career record of 146-10-1 and won four consecutive team championships from 1996-99.

He has been active in wrestling his whole life, including helping coach Show Low win two consecutive titles at the Arizona Champions Wrestling Club and running Omit at.

Currently an administrator in the Peoria School District, Sammy continues to support wrestling by assisting at clubs and clinics.

Sammy holds the distinction of being the first high school wrestler ever to appear on a Wheaties box, appearing in 1998.
