David coached at many levels. After a short position at Flagstaff Jr. High in 1992, he moved to Tucson and began 6 years as an assistant at Arizona's premier program, Sunnyside HS. While there, Sunnyside won 4 state titles and 2 runner-up places. David has been at Desert Vista HS since 1998 and has been Head Coach since 2006 to the present. While at Desert Vista, his teams have finished as Runner-ups in 2002 and 2019 and then 3 thirds at the 5A State Meet. They were semi-finalists in the first Team Dual Championships. David has coached 13 State Champs including 2 3X State champions. He has 30 other placers at the Division I Championships. David's other season, (basically all year) is running tourneys and coaching youth in the AZ/USA Wrestling season. He has been Junior Director and currently serves as the State Chairman. He was named "Development Coach of the Year" by USA Wrestling in 2008.
