Andrew Gugliemini, Jr

Andrew Gugliemini, Jr. or "Coach Gug" as he is more commonly known, is a 1985 graduate of Manatee High School, and has served as the head coach at his Alma Mater since 1996. He started his coaching career at crosstown rival Riverview High School, after graduating from the University of South Florida. He also attended and wrestled at Pembroke State University from1986-87. At Manatee, "Coach Gug" has established Manatee as a perineal powerhouse, compiling a 434-128, with 9 State Champions, 46 individual placewinners. His team has been state runners-up 2x, and has 11 Top 12x; winning 2 Region Championships, and 17 county championships in his 19 years as head coach. Individually, he's coached Bobby Latessa (2x), Brent Denisar, Trevor Fair (2x), Andrew Fulk, Jacob Gregory, Alex Doran and Jesse Fulk to individual State Championships. In addition to his many accomplishments as a wrestling coach, Andy is a varsity football and wrestling official for the FHSAA and was named the state's Top Football Official in 2013. He is married to wife Lisa, and teaches at Haile Middle School in Bradenton.
